President
I live by the mantra “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, faithfully”. I have been serving the Insurance Industry for fourteen years; starting as Sales Representative and today I am the Sales Manager for Guyana and Trinidad Mutual Group of Insurance Companies. I have served on and off the executive of Life Underwriters Association, The Insurance Institute and The Insurance Association of SVG at various capacities. My desire is to see the Insurance Industry serve the nation’s people faithfully with the highest ethical and professional standard.

2021 marks my fourth year as a practitioner in the Insurance Industry. The experience thus far has deepened my knowledge, understanding and appreciation for the value of this sector to the overall Economic Growth of our country, particularly through the management of risk.
With this Executive team, my desire is to create sustainability for the Insurance Association by building on the newly formed Secretariat of the previous Executive, creating forums for greater public awareness on the basics of Insurance and Risk, and fostering processes for more effective management of Claims within the Industry.

Desra is married and the mother of two daughters. She’s been an insurance advisor at Sagicor for the last 19 years, and is a firm believer in doing the best job the first time around.

I have been tenured at St. Hill Insurance for the past four years in the capacity of Claims Manager. I am tasked with handling all claims made by our Insured. I have learnt and experienced a lot since entering the General Insurance sector and being a part of the association provides another avenue for me to contribute meaningfully to the sector.
One area I would like to see developed in my tenure as secretary is the enhanced relationship and partnering between the partners in the General Insurance sector.
Hannah Laidlow

Hannah D. Laidlow, FCCA, CIA, is a Chartered Certified Accountant with a combined 13 years experience in the Auditing and Accounting field. She is currently the Financial Controller at St. Vincent Insurances Limited.
Rudisha Mc Tair-Peters
social Affairs Coordinator
With 12 years’ experience, Rudisha still believes that there is something new to learn every day in the insurance industry. She is the Client Solutions Manager at Gallagher Insurance Broker (St. Vincent) with a degree BSc Business (Marketing) and HIA Designation. As the Social Officer for the executive, her aim is to bring the members of the association together through the planning of social activities for learning and bonding experiences.
Neka Anthony

Neka Anthony has been in the insurance industry for the past nine years and four months as a Sales Representative with Demerara Mutual Life. I had served on the interim executive of The Vincentian Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (VINAIFA) as PRO for about 2 plus years. Collaborating with positive minds and getting things done I am up for the task. I believe we will carry the mantle of the Association in each and every company conquering hurdles and creating great success stories.

I am honoured at the opportunity to serve for a second time around on the executive of the Insurance Association of SVG. During my tenure as Managing Director of the St. Hill Insurance Company Limited, a position I held from 2001 to 2010, I also served on the Insurance Association Executive as President.
The need for insurance is more important now than ever before; more vehicles, boats and vessels, more buildings (domestic & commercial), more businesses and business transactions all resulting in increased exposure and risks. With these comes challenges and the need for protection and regulation.
The work of the Association is therefore well outlined and requires as many hands on deck to address the many dimensions of the industry. I am happy to be a part of this team to meet head on these requirements and challenges with resulting positive outcomes as our only objective.
